Blur Tips

  • Mosaic mode is suitable for obscuring faces and text
  • Pixelate mode is suitable for large area obscuring
  • Gaussian blur mode is suitable for natural transition effects
  • Solid color mode is suitable for completely hiding information
  • You can click the same area multiple times to enhance the blur effect

How to Blur or Pixelate Images Online?

  1. After uploading, choose a processing style under "Blur Effect": Gaussian blur, mosaic, pixelate or solid cover.
  2. Drag the sliders to set the effect intensity and brush size — intensity controls how strong the effect is, brush size controls how much area each stroke covers.
  3. Paint directly over the areas you want to hide — faces, license plates, ID numbers and other sensitive details. Made a mistake? Click "Clear" to start over.
  4. When the result looks right, hit "Apply". Download results one by one, or grab multiple files together in a single ZIP archive.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which scenarios suit each of the four effects?

Gaussian blur blends smoothly — ideal for softening backgrounds. Mosaic and pixelate destroy detail completely, making them the go-to for hiding faces and text. Solid cover masks the area with an opaque block for maximum confidentiality.

How do painted regions apply to other images in batch mode?

"Apply" transfers the regions you painted on the current image proportionally to all uploaded pictures. Perfect for batches with similar composition, such as signs or watermarks in the same spot; if sensitive areas differ per image, process them one at a time.

Can censored areas be recovered later?

No. Mosaic, pixelate and Gaussian blur all destroy the original pixel data — once processed there is no going back, so you can rely on it for privacy protection.

Can I blur only part of a photo?

Yes — that's exactly how the tool works: only the areas you paint over get processed while the rest of the picture stays untouched, great for portrait background blur or partial redaction.

Are my images uploaded to a server?

Never. All painting and processing happens locally in your browser, so your images never leave your device and sensitive data can't leak.

Does it work on mobile?

Yes. The page supports touch: paint the areas you want censored directly with your finger.
